Chair
2025, Mixed media, 20″ x 16″
The portrait of Vera
is one with her chair.
Somewhere in her youth
her face obscured
by a veil, her youth
obscured by longing,
she sings,
“You can only take one
when the clocks run down—
will you be mine?
Will you be mine
when the clocks are quiet
and the chair begins to dance?”
